As Ryan approves Ukrainian driving licenses in line with EU policy, stats show that Ukrainians are TWICE as likely to die in a Road Traffic Accident than Irish people

As Green Party leader, Eamon Ryan approve Ukrainian driving licenses in line with EU policy, we discover Ukrainians are TWICE as likely to die in a Road Traffic Accident than Irish people.

This week, the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan has signed into law that Ukrainian people can immediately swap their driving licences for Irish ones.

However, data contained on the website, www.worldlifeexpectancy.com shows that TWICE as many Ukrainians die in Road Traffic Accidents in Ukraine than Irish people on Irish roads.

The World Life Expectancy website lists road traffic accidents in Ukraine as 16th in Ukraine whilst Ireland is listed as 31. That places Ukraine citizens at almost TWICE as likely to die from road accidents in Ukraine.

This is a massive difference in Road Safety standards between the two countries and should be a real concern for our government. Has Eamon Ryan blindly followed the EU without looking at the facts. Has he put the Irish community at risk, just to be the EU’s best boy?
