The Salvation Army said it was taking in 100 more people a night last year than it did in 2020.
It supported 125 homeless families and said it continues to support 500 people through its six services in Dublin.
The church and charity provided 38,000 meals at their three family centers in Harold’s Cross, Coolock and Crumlin.
Several newborns were among those the charity has helped over the past year. The oldest user of the service was 71 years old.
Of those cared for at two of The Salvation Army’s three emergency and adult centers in Dublin, 149 were men, 16 of whom transitioned to independent living.
Its center on Dublin’s Granby Row provided over 69,000 meals in 2021.
According to the organization, Covid-19 has continued to hamper operations over the past year, causing “ongoing anxiety among homeless service users and staff”, reports RTE.
The charity’s initiative with the Health Service Executive to introduce vaccinations for service users was described as a “resounding success”.
