Asthma and hayfever sufferers advised to take extra care as pollen count rises




Asthma and hayfever sufferers have been advised to take extra precautions as forecasters say the pollen count is set rise.

In an announcement Met Eireann said that the pollen count will rise in Leinster and Ulster from today as warmer and sunnier conditions arrive.

The national forecaster say the count will be high as Eastern and South Eastern areas are expected to be affected the most.

Met Éireann say there will be a higher risk of grass and weed pollen due to the drier weather conditions.

High pollen can be particularly irritating to hayfever sufferers as symptoms include, itchy eyes, face swelling, runny nose, sneezing and a sore throat.

Those who suffer from both conditions are advised to take extra care.
