At least 380 whales have died in a mass stranding event in Tasmania.
A total of 460 long-finned whales became stranded Macquarie Harbour on Monday. Rescue efforts got underway immediately, and 50 whales were brought back to safety over the next 48h.
This is the largest stranding event ever recorded in Tasmania.
