According to research carried out by the University of Alberta in Canada, that health benefits in Resveratrol, a compound found in red wine, are similar to those we get from exercise.
They managed to break it down in that one glass of red wine is the same as performing an exercise in the gym for an hour.
Lead researcher, Jason Dyck, claims that these findings should be able to help those who are unable to exercise. Resveratrol was seen to improve physical performance, heart function and muscle strength in the same way as theyāre improved after a gym session.
āI think resveratrol could help patient populations who want to exercise but are physically incapable,ā Jason says.
āResveratrol could mimic exercise for them or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do.ā
What are you waiting for? Gym or wine? I know which one I’ll be picking, ask your friends if they want to “go to the gym” tonight!
Cheers!
