It might be the last Bank Holiday of the “summer”, and it’s sure going out with a bang.
August Bank Holiday Monday is looking particularly bleak indeed. A yellow weather warning has been issued for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, and Limerick, as strong to gale force southerly winds are set to punish the country in the coming hours.
Gusts of up to 100km/h are expected in western areas tomorrow, and the rest of the week will not fare much better.
Coming up to Tuesday, sunny spells and showers are expected, with more persistent rain by Wednesday.
Thursday will be the best day of the week, with a lot of dry weather around, but another band of heavy rain is expected to make its way across the country on Friday, heaping more misery onto us.
