Australia has announced plans to boost tourism by offering greatly discounted airfares for domestic destinations.
The nation’s borders are still closed due to the pandemic, so domestic tourism is being promoted as an interim solution.
The plan involves spending Aus$1.2bn (€780m) to subsidize as many as 800,000 flights to locations that heavily rely on tourism income.
