Gardai and military authorities are investigating the discovery of a concealed box of grenades at Aiken Barracks in Co. Louth.
Throwing grenades is part of regular infantry training, and all explosives are rigorously counted and stored.
It is understood that 80 soldiers will be questioned about the discovery.
