Coillte have warned the public to be very vigilant this coming week as they believe many more forest fires will occur with the impending heatwave.
They say that people having barbecues need to be very careful how they extinguish their fire and ensure not to light anything near a forest or wooded area.
They’ve also reminded smokers not to throw the butt of their cigarettes away in case they start a forest fire.
