Finally the Minister for Health Simon Harris did the right thing and granted Vera Twomey’s daughter Ava a licence to receive medicinal cannabis in Ireland to help treat her epilepsy.
In a very touching and emotional video posted to Facebook. Cork woman Vera Twomey thanked all her supporters for helping the family champion the cause and help Ava return home from the Netherlands.
Vera said:
“I just wanted to let you know that we have some really, really good news that Ava’s been granted the licence for the medical cannabis and we’re coming home,”
The delighted woman went on to say:
“We’ll be home for Christmas and she’s doing really, really well and just can’t wait to get back.”
The family plan on coming home to Ireland as soon as possible.
