Gardaí have sadly confirmed that a 15-year-old schoolboy has passed away after falling ill at a school in Co Kildare.
According to The Irish Post, the third year student sadly died after falling ill at Scoil Mhuire in Clane on Monday.
It is understood that emergency services were called to the school after the boy became unwell at gym in the school.
Although he was quickly rushed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, the young boy was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí say they have been made aware of the incident and an investigation is currently ongoing.
They added that they are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination in order to determine the cause of the boy’s death.
