Gardai issued a third appeal last week for Baby Maria’s biological mother to come forward, but she has so far not done so.
A number of calls from the public in response to the Gardai’s appeals were followed through but they proved unsuccessful. Authorities have said that Baby Maria’s parents have nothing to fear by coming forward.
The newborn was reportedly 24 to 36 hours old when she was found by chance by a passing motorist in Steelestown Lane, Rathcoole, Dublin, two weeks ago.
