The baby girl found abandoned inside a plastic bag on the side of a back road in Rathcoole, Dublin, earlier in the year is said to be doing well in foster care.
Named “Baby Maria” by the hospital staff who looked after her after she was found, the baby had been nourished and fed before being abandoned, but suffered from hypothermia after being left in the open for up to 36 hours.
Gardai have so far been unable to locate the baby’s mother, and have issued another appeal for her to come forward.
