The HSE are receiving a backlash over a proposed €4.5 million mortuary being built in Waterford University Hospital.
HSE management appear to be putting in a state-of-the-art mortuary into the hospital while Waterford residents say the hospital is in desperate need of a 24-hr-cardiac care unit which it currently doesn’t have.
To add to the issue, a minium of 12 patients per week are put on waiting lists to be seen in Cork rather than Waterford hospital itself.
