There are some dire news in the jobs front this evening, as staff at the Cameron plant in Longford have been told that the site will close soon, with a net job loss of 170.
Cameron is an engineering company that manufactures products for the oil and gas industry. Management are blaming a downturn in such market for the closure.
A statement released by the company said: “It is with great regret that we advised our employees today that potentially manufacturing, assembly and test activities in Longford would cease during 2017.”
