The Baltimore Lifeboat was summoned to aid a woman on Sherkin Island yesterday evening after she became seriously unwell after being stung by a jellyfish.
Reports say the woman suffered respiratory problems, after experiencing anaphylactic shock caused by the jellyfish sting.
Baltimore Lifeboat station say they picked up the women at Sherkin Island and dropped her to the care of HSE paramedic team and HSE ambulance crew who were waiting on the shore, before she was transferred to a nearby hospital.
