Barbers and hairdressers being offered huge money for “black market haircuts”

Barbers and hairdressers across Ireland are being offered huge money to conduct services privately in their own home.

A normal gents cut ranges from anything between €10 to €30 depending where you go and where you live in the country.

The Liberal is now hearing stories of men offering up to €60 to get a short, back and sides a barber’s own residence.

Hairdressers too are being offered big money to get ladies looking fab during lockdown but prices being bandied about of up to €200 for a private ladies haircut.

The Liberal spoke to one barber, Rodney from the South of the country, who told us:
“It’s been chopping non stop since mid April. Lads mostly are getting tight skin fades that last them longer than usual. I’m charging my usual €10 just for regulars who’ve been with me for years but everyone is throwing a score my way because they’re just grateful I’m willing to cut.”

“I know no one who has covid-19 and I use a mask when I cut. I’ll continue doing it too as I see no reason to stop. The sooner our shops can open, the better as I see a lot of lads going about with awful self shaving cuts done and they look brutal.”
