Met Eireann have issued an yellow status wind warning for the vast majority of the country this evening.
According to the national forecaster there will be gale force winds this evening with heavy, thundery, blustery showers nationwide. However the showers will die out overnight but it will remain cold with temperatures expected to hit lows of 2 to 4 degrees.
Motorists have be warned to be extra vigilant whilst driving and be on the lookout for falling debris.
