Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution this morning as widespread frost is expected following freezing temperatures overnight.
The advice comes after Met Eireann yellow weather warning after heavy rainfalls fell in much of Leinster and Munster yesterday and overnight.
Met Éireann say the warning which came into effect at 2pm yesterday and will remain in place until midday today. Sleet and snow showers were seen higher ground.
Although the national forecaster say frost and icy patches could occur on lower ground.
People have been asked to share this information with their friends and especially for those out on the roads overnight and in the morning.
