Thick fog banks this morning have sparked a caution warning for motorists nationwide, and are causing delays for commuters.
Carlow town, Tullamore, Thurles, Portlaoise and Limerick City are some of the areas worst affected, though driving conditions around Cavan, Ennis, Carrick-on-Shannon, Manorhamilton, Navan and Galway City are also difficult.
Commuters are advised to allow extra time to travel this morning.
The good news is that weather conditions will improve dramatically as the day goes on, giving way to a dry and sunny day later on, with temperatures reaching 18C in places.
