Captain Mark Duffy’s family have finally received closure after search teams managed to free his body from the wreckage of Rescue helicopter 116 off the coast of Mayo and return his body to his family in Blackrock, Dundalk, Co. Louth.
The helicopter itself is still embedded in the sea bed but search teams say they are very close to releasing it.
Mark Duffy’s family have requested people carry donor cards rather than give flowers at his funeral.
