Belfast pub temporarily closed after nine people fall ill at the premises

A public house in Belfast had to be temporarily closed after nine people reportedly fell ill while at the premises.

The Morning Star pub, located in Pottinger’s Entry in Belfast city centre was closed for a time on June 4, when a number of staff began feeling ill. It is understood that fumes from cleaning products were to blame.

Emergency services attended the scene and determined that the problem arose when staff mixed cleaning products, resulting in noxious fumes.

There were no serious or long-lasting injuries, so the pub was re-opened later in the evening.
