Gardai in Co Kildare have confirmed they are currently in the process of investigating an alleged attempted abduction of a minor, in Athy.
Gardai say the incident occurred yesterday afternoon on Green Alley in the town. Reports say a man driving a car believed to be a White BMW with tinted windows, approached the young female as she was walking along the street. It’s also though there were a number of other individuals in the back of the vehicle at the time.
Gardaí say the girl was initially asked for directions to the near by Credit Union before one male got out of the car and told her to get in. However thankfully the young girl managed to flee the scene and ran to the nearby garda station where she notified Gardaí.
The assailant is described as being in his 20s with large tattoos. Meanwhile a family member of the girl has revealed the young girl is “doing fine after what was a traumatic experience for her.” “Just want to make people aware to be vigilant of this man. It could be anyone’s daughter.”
