Big TV classic making a comeback as Paramount announce that The Little House On The Prairie will be brought to the big screen




It was one of the biggest TV series of the 1970’s that I am sure many of you remember but now The Little House On The Prairie is being going makes its way to the big screen it has been announced.

The show which was based in the stories of Laura Ingalls and her family originally ran from 1974-1983, is about to be given the screen treatment after Paramount agreed to take over the project after Sony decided not to pursue it. The infamous show which focuses on Laura Ingalls tales of her upbringing in rural Minnesota, was due to have a big screen adaption until Sony decided to bin the project after worries about its $45 million budget.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new movie will now be produced by Paramount, with Martha Marcy May Marlene and director Sean Durkin fronting the project. It’s not yet known if any of the original cast consisting of Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert playing father and daughter will be in the new project.
