Tonight’s Six One news was hard to watch.
Firstly the detailed report about the tragedy itself, then the heart-wrenching but heroic tale of the brave Donegal man Davitt Walsh who saved the baby’s life in the Buncrana tragedy.
We then heard the brave account of what happened from Francis Crawford who raised the alert with the emergency services.
Bishop Donal McKeown of Derry said:
“The community needs to rally together. The family, friends, communities of Donegal and Derry and even the priests of the communities to know how to try and help Louise, her baby and the remaining extended family.”
Francis to Crawford said:
“The whole situation was heart-wrenching. I heard the frantic commotion in the back of the car where the children were tragically in vain trying to free themselves from the car”.
