The body of a 29-year-old male tourist has been found at a holiday resort in Albufeira, Portugal. The man is believed to be Irish. The body was discovered at the Pine Sun Park resort in Praia da Falésia, Albufeira in the early hours of Monday morning by a friend at around 5.04am.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene but tragically it was too late to save the young man. By the time rescue services arrived at the scene, the body had already been retrieved from the pool by a friend and security guard, according to National tabloid Correio de Manhã.
His body has been taken to the office of legal medicine for an autopsy and an investigation is underway. It was also reported that it was a family holiday with a group of friends.
Albufeira has become a popular holiday destination with Irish tourists in recent years.
