A boil water notice which was put in place in counties Dublin, Kildare and Meath has been lifted it has been revealed.
According to RTÉ News, the decision is to lift the ban was made by the Health Service Executive, the Environmental Protection Agency, Irish Water and Fingal County Council.
It is understood the ban which had affected more than 615,000 people has been lifted following results of test samples which were taken from a Leixlip water treatment plant.
The ban which had been imposed for a second time will now be lifted with immediate effect.
