A boil water notice has been issued in Co Westmeath following an issue at a water treatment plant.
It is understood the notice has been implemented after a problem occurred at Castlepollard.
Although Irish Water say they are currently working on the issue, it is believed that a problem occurred with the disinfection process at the plant.
It is understood that the notice which has been implemented since New Year’s Eve will affect homes and businesses in the Ballymanus, Hilltown, Slieveboy, Loughpark, Fore, Martinstown, Cummerstown, Collinstown, Ranahan, Glenidan areas.
