The bomb disposal unit was called out to Kinsale in Co. Cork yesterday evening, after a World War 2-era explosive device was found at the harbour.
The device, believed to be a mine, was brought ashore.
The main slipway at Kinsale Pier was closed for a time while experts made the device safe.
