Booze raiders nick 15,000 whiskey bottles

Jameson-bottle1

Some fifteen thousand bottles of whiskey and other spirits were stolen during a daring raid at a Dublin warehouse on November 14.

The incident happened in the Parkwest industrial Estate, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.

Two warehouse employees were working there when two men entered the premises armed with iron bars.

They forced the employees to open the loading bay, and at least three more men arrived. The workers were tied up.

The raiders used two 40 foot trucks to steal a substantial amount of alcohol.

The haul consists of:

Some 2,580 cases of Jameson Whiskey, each case being made up of six 700ml bottles. Each of the cases stolen has one of these three Batch numbers; L428112153, L428312172, L428016141, with each bottle having a corresponding batch number on the rear of the label.

Cases of Bombay Sapphire gin and Jack Daniels whiskey, both containing 700ml bottles, were also stolen. No batch numbers are available for either.

It is quite likely that the stolen alcohol will be offered for sale in the run up to Christmas.

Gardai are asking anyone with information to contact the Incident Room at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 6667227 / 01 6667200.
