One of Ireland’s greatest rugby players in recent times has confirmed that he will officially retire from the sport at the end of the current season.
The remarkable Ulster and Ireland winger Tommy Bowe who earned 69 caps and scored memorable tries for both club and country confirmed the news on Monday that he will hang up his boots in May.

Bowe 34, who earned 69 caps for Ireland made the announcement on Monday via a short poem on his Twitter account.
In the poem Bowe who currently recovering from a shoulder injury said the following: Bowe wrote a poem on Twitter on Monday, which read: “Iāve spent most of my career in Belfast, At first George said I wasnāt very fast, I eventually found my gears, Had some incredible years, But itās time to tell you – this is my last!”
Amongst his highlights Bowe managed to score an all important last try against Wales during Ireland’s 2009 Six Nations Grand Slam win.
