Authorities in France have confirmed that a 12-year-old British boy has died after he got difficulties whilst swimming in a lake.
According to Sky News, the young boy sadly passed away after he got into difficulties whilst swimming in a lake at a popular campsite resort at La Croix du Vieux-Pont in Berny-Riviere.
It is believed that a number of people tried to save the boy after he was taken from the water at approximately 6:30pm.
However despite being transferred to a hospital in Paris, he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
The British Foreign Office have confirmed that they have been made aware of the incident and said they are currently providing assistance to the boy’s family.
