Following the global devastation of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce announcement, Pitt is seeking joint custody of their six children, Shiloh, Pax, Maddox, Zahara and twins Knox and Vivienne, who range from 8 to 15 years old.

The actors that famously fell in love while shooting ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ filed for a divorce on the 15th of September after only two years of marriage whereby Jolie requested sole physical custody of the kids.

While a family dispute from September is under investigation, Jolie and Pitt have reached a temporary custody agreement that allows Pitt to visit his children while an investigation is carried out by a child welfare agency in Los Angeles.

Sources have told the Associated Press that Pitt was abusive towards their eldest son, Maddox. Although there was no mention of abuse in the relationship causing divorce. Pitt sited the couple have separated due to “irreconcilable differences”.

The outcome of the investigation could affect the custody battle in court, however Californian courts tend to favour awarding joint custody.
