Kathleen Correia waived her right to anonymity to warn other women about the dangers of coercive control within marriages.
The gutsys woman spoke to Prime Time with Miriam O’Callaghan.
Ms Correia’s former thug husband, Sergio, was thankfully jailed for 8 years on Monday for raping and coercively controlling her during their marriage.
She told Prime Time about certain signs began to emerge soon after their wedding in 2012.
The courageous woman said that justice has been served and told anyone in a relationship that is toxic that they need to talk to a friend or family member and to go to the gardai.
