Famous architect and TV presenter Hugh Wallace spoke openly on last night’s Late Late Show about his severe alcohol problem.
The star of RTE’s “Home of the Year”, Wallace told how he started drinking aged 17 and never really stopped after that.
His routine would consist of a number of drinks BEFORE work, a bottle of wine at lunch, several pints after work and a bottle of vodka or gin in the evening.
The culmination of drink eventually caught up with the architect and he realised he was just repeating himself over and over again with a severe alcohol and depression problem.
However, Wallace received help and has managed to come out the other side. He now said he was a reborn TV career and is searching for Ireland’s “Home of the Year” 2016.
