Brave young Irish mum lays bare the shame of homelesness in Ireland in front of European Commission

A brave young Irish mother has rightly and courageously shamed the Government in front of the European Commission.

Erica Fleming, who is 30 years of age and homeless, has been living in a hotel with her 9 year old daughter for a year.

Ms. Fleming stood up in front of the EU Commission and delivered an impassioned speech highlighting the wretched depths of the homelessness crisis in Ireland.

She spoke of being forced to rot inside a hotel room after she was unable to find affordable accommodation.

Ms. Fleming’s true-to-life speech reportedly left the EU Commission aghast, as Irish delegates had misled its members about the true state of Ireland’s homelessness issue all along.

Brave Erica had been invited to Brussels by Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan, who simply wanted the reveal the truth about the Irish Government’s lack of care and interest about the homeless in our society.

The true face of the Irish Government is now in full view of our European counterparts, who will surely look at our financial ‘recovery’ in a very different light.
