Tributes have poured in for 16-yr-old Darragh Byrnes, who tragically died after falling from a height near a lake close to Daingean Uà Chúis in Co Kerry. His school remembered him as a bright and uplifting young man.
Darragh, from Charleville, Co Cork, was visiting the Corca Dhuibhne gaeltacht in west Kerry with his parents. They were at An Chonair, a mountain pass connecting Daingean Uà Chúis to An Clochán village on the peninsula’s northern side.
The family, deeply rooted in Charleville, had stopped at a waterfall near the pass’s summit. Darragh climbed a short distance to Loch an Pheidléara, a lake above the waterfall, where he suffered fatal injuries in a fall.
Charleville CBS Secondary School expressed their grief, noting Darragh’s vibrant spirit.
May he rest in peace.
