In shocking developing news, a Ukrainian place carrying around 167 passengers and 9 crew members has crashed soon after taking off from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini airport, killing all on board, Iran’s state television and a Ukrainian officials say.
The Boeing 737 was part of the Ukraine International Airline fleet and crashed near the airport and burst into flames.
Ukraine’s embassy in Iran confirm that the plane had suffered engine failure and the crash was not caused by “terrorism”. The Ukrainian government has urged people not to speculate as to why the plane went down.
