At 7:30am this morning, ESB Networks say some 400,000 homes, farms and businesses across the country are all without power as a result of Storm Darragh.
Crews have been trying to get ready to go out and  try and fix what they can throughout the night but currently it is unsafe to do so.
It said further power outages will be be expected from potentially damaging gusts as wind warnings remain in effect until at least 10am this morning.
