Social media is awash with users posting images of trees down across Ireland.
Storm Darragh took grip of the west coast roughly around 10pm last night and did not let up through the night. It has been smashing winds across every county since midnight, leaving trees down in its path.
Motorists are advised to take extreme care as winds of 141klm have been recorded by Met Eireann.
Status red and orange weather warnings are in place until 10am this morning when winds are finally due to ease off.
