BREAKING: A man aged in his 50s has sadly died after two-vehicle collision in Co Louth

A man has lost his life after a two-vehicle crash in Dundalk, Co Louth, on Sunday, reports Breaking News.

The incident took place on the R215 at Newtownfane around 2.50 pm.

The driver of one car, a man in his 50s, was declared dead at the scene, reports Breaking News.

His remains were taken to Louth County Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place.

Another man, also in his 50s, was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, reports Breaking News.

The coroner has been informed of the fatality.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carried out a technical examination of the scene, reports Breaking News.

Gardaí are requesting that any witnesses to the collision come forward and contact them, reports Breaking News.

Road users who were in the area between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm and who may have dash-cam or other camera footage are urged to provide it to the investigating gardaí.
