BREAKING: A man armed with a shotgun has been shot dead after he entered President Trump’s house in Florida

Early Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, an armed intruder attempted to breach the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach resort in Florida. Around 1:30 a.m., a man in his early 20s was spotted near the north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can.

Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy confronted the individual after he unlawfully entered the restricted area. Authorities ordered him to drop the items, but he reportedly raised the shotgun into a firing position. In response, law enforcement opened fire, fatally shooting the suspect.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were not present at the property; they were at the White House in Washington, D.C., at the time. No protectees or law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.

The event marks the latest security concern surrounding Trump, who survived multiple assassination attempts in 2024, including one at a Pennsylvania rally and another near his West Palm Beach golf course. The FBI, Secret Service, and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the intruder’s identity, motive, and actions. The suspect’s name has not been released pending family notification.

This breach underscores the heightened security measures at Mar-a-Lago amid ongoing political tensions.
