PSNI have announced today that a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car struck several people outside a pub in Co Down, leaving two seriously injured, RTÉ reports. The incident took place around 11:05pm on Main Street, Millisle, according to the PSNI.
RTÉ states that the car reportedly hit the crowd, turned around, drove past the pub again, and then fled the scene. The vehicle was later found outside Walkers Lane, Millisle. “One man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a number of driving offences, he is currently in police custody,” Detective Inspector Oonagh Ryan told RTÉ.
Police and ambulance services attended the scene, providing treatment to the victims. RTÉ confirms that two individuals were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Main Street, Millisle, remains closed as part of an ongoing PSNI operation. The PSNI is urging anyone in the area at the time or with relevant dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them, RTÉ reports.
