A man in his late teens has died after a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Loughrea, County Galway.
The incident occurred on the N65 at Moyleen at approximately 2.20am, reports RTE.
The deceased was travelling as a passenger in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
His body was taken to Portiuncula University Hospital in Ballinasloe, where a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out, reports RTE.
The driver and two other passengers were brought to University Hospital Galway for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The section of road where the crash occurred has been closed to allow for a technical examination, reports RTE.
Gardaà have issued an appeal to the public and are asking any motorists who were travelling on the N65 between Loughrea and Ballinasloe at Moyleen between 2am and 2.30am, and who may have dashcam or other camera footage, to share it with them.
