Breaking: A Turkish plane made an emergency landing in Shannon after a bomb was said to be on board with 227 passengers

Gardai, the Fire Brigade and special bomb disposal units are currently examining a Turkish plane which emergency landed in Shannon airport at 10:02am this morning.

The flight was travelling from Houston, Texas to Istanbul when it diverted to Shannon.

The Liberal has discovered:

A bomb alert was issued to emergency services after allegedly a message was transmitted to the pilot that a bomb was on board the plane of 227 passengers.

Both passengers and crew managed to safely exit the plane.
The situation is on going.
