American boxer Patrick Day has sadly passed away at the age of 27 it has been confirmed.
Day, who had been in a coma following his match with Charles Conwell on Saturday night sadly passed away due to the extent of his injuries.
According to reports in the US, Day sadly passed away after he suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was knocked out by his opponent on the undercard of Oleksandr Uysk’s main event fight with Chazz Witherspoon.
The news of Day’s death was confirmed by promoter Lou DiBella who said Patrick was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing.
He added that Patrick’s family and friends would like to thank the public for their support during this difficult time.
