Garda investigation underway after a man is attacked after being lured through a gay dating app




Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man was attacked by a group of thugs in Dublin on Tuesday night.

According to RTÉ News, the investigation comes after the man aged in his 50s was lured to a location through a gay dating app.

It is understood the man was attacked by a group of young men near the Odeon Cinema on the Malahide Road in Coolock at approximately 10.30pm.

The man who was treated at the Beaumont Hospital says he went to the location on the belief that he was meeting another man for a date.

However upon arriving at the location he was attacked by the group who tried to hit him on the head with hammers.

Gardai say they have been made aware of the incident and have confirmed that an investigation is currently ongoing.

They are appealing for anyone who may have any information to come forward and contact them at Coolock Garda Station on 01 6664200.
