Breaking: An acrobat has died after falling 100ft onto the stage before a Green Day concert – which still went ahead 10 minutes later

Horrific news emerging from Spain tonight. According to the Spanish news agency El Mundo, an acrobat fell 100ft at the music festival Mad Cool.

The acrobat was acting inside a small cage suspended around 100 feet in the air near the stage. His harness suddenly snapped or became disconnected and with scenes reminiscent of wrestler Owen Hart’s death, the man fell at speed to the edge of the stage hitting it chest-on.

It’s understood that the audience initially thought it was part of an act but for some 10 minutes emergency crew worked on the acrobat and the music fans soon realised this wasn’t part of the show.

The man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Controversially, festival organisers and the American band ‘Green Day’ decided that the show should continue and the band played a full set on the stage that the acrobat had literally just died at.

Many fans stormed out and took to social media to convey their disgust at the “bad taste” of both organisers and Green Day for going ahead and not showing the man some respect by stopping the show then and there.
