An Irish woman has sadly drowned off the coast of Sardinia in Italy, it’s been confirmed.
It is believed that the woman, aged in her 60s, died after being swept into the sea.
Italian fire officials said that a body was removed from the water near the village of Portu Maga yesterday evening.
It’s understood that the Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the case is providing consular assistance to the woman’s family.
