A man has been arrested after an incident described by gardaĆ as “serious” which occurred in Dublin on Sunday afternoon.
The event took place in the Stoneybatter area, where gardaĆ have confirmed there is currently “no ongoing risk” to the public, however that wasn’t the case when the man reportedly randomly attacked a number of people.
It’s understood that several individuals were stabbed in this part of the city.
A significant number of gardaĆ, along with other emergency services, remain present at the scene.
Many, many locals are claiming publicly to the media present, gardai at the scene and online that the attacker is a migrant.
The man is now in custody at a garda station located on the northside of Dublin – gardai are refusing to confirm or deny social media accusations that the man arrested is a migrant, believed to be from South America.
They say that they will not release any further information at this time and that it will only come to light if and when the man is charged.
